After the divorce, one spouse may have to pay maintenance to the other.
Divorce maintenance can be awarded if, for example, the other partner is at fault for the divorce.
According to Austrian law, the maintenance claim expires as soon as the person entitled to maintenance enters into a cohabitation with a new partner.
What is meant by cohabitation?
A cohabitation is a marriage-like, long-term emotional community that is characterized by the three elements of a living, economic and sexual community.
